The HMC Process
Where and How to get started on your remodeling project.
1. Collect your ideas
![]()
We recommend that you begin an extensive visit right here, on our website. read remodeling magazines, score the web and library and visit friends homes for things you think you would and would not like in the design for your new kitchen... or bathroom... or home office... or home entertainment center.
2. Jot it Down
Write down your thoughts and preferences, include measurements of the room, go to our measuring guide for assistance. We recommend you keep it in a folder or 3 ring binder to organize your pictures and ideas. Fill out our Design Questionnaire . If you would like some help defining your style visit Cabinetry & Counter tops.
3. Meet with our design professionals
Then, call or email us to make an appointment with a member of our design team. An appointment
guarantees you uninterrupted time to discuss your project. Don't forget to bring your idea book or folder to
your appointment. This is where the fun begins. During this visit we will ask you about your lifestyle, family life,
how you use the room, and what your expectations are for the finished project and budget.
* Reminder, Bring your idea book, dimensions of room, along with
the design questionnaire, if you have not ready emailed it to us
4. Quote / Design presentation
Once your designer has had time to generate a design (generally 72 business hours from your initial visit, if they have all your information as outlined), meet to discuss and understand the custom 3-D drawing your designer has created for you, along with detailed cost analysis. At this time a minimum fee, non refundable deposit of $100 will be collected before revisions are made or computer designs can leave the showroom. This amount is taken off the overall proposal.
5. In home visit
At this time your HMC professional will measure your space for accuracy and one of our installation professionals will access the space to determine the scope of installation.
6. Revise final presentation & proposal
Your HMC designer will show you any final tweaks to the design and pricing then present you with
your revised quote. Your project will be reviewed in detail and your HMC designer will explain the project
time frame, answer any questions or concerns you may have at this time.
7. Place your order
Then it is time to place your order and put down a deposit, then sit back and relax for the kitchen of your dreams to arrive.
